Why and when did you decide to become a hockey player?
I was pretty much born into the hockey club due to my family. My dad used to play hockey himself and we always spend a lot of time in our club. So I kind of “had“ to play hockey.

Which qualities make you a good player?
I think I always find a good balance between enjoyment/fun and hard work/discipline. That guarantees my personal success.

What is your favorite exercise during your training?
Goal shooting exercises.

What is your favorite hockey stick and why?
The Reece RX130 (good shape, good balance between “soft touch and big hit“).

From which hockey player did you learn the most?
Christopher Zeller.

Do you have any rituals before an important game and if so, what are they?
No, don’t have them.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love socializing with friends.

What is the most memorable moment in your career so far?
Olympic Bronze Medal.

What is your most important goal at this moment?
I had a number of injuries last year, including a broken ankle. It took a while before I could find my old rhythm. I hope I can play for the Dutch team at some point. But the most important thing is to enjoy playing. Then the rest will come!

Do you have any ideas about your life after hockey?
At the moment I’m studying economics and management in cologne. But I’m not 100% sure what I want to do after I finished.

Which hockey player do you admire and why is that?
I always enjoyed playing with Christopher Zeller, cause I absolutely love the way he plays. Individual skills, speed, corners, shooting, passing, little give n go‘s. He is just “complete“, he can do it all.

What would be your best advice for young hockey players?
Enjoy the time as a hockey player, but work hard for your success, because success makes you happy!!!
